HERITAGE BREED SERIES: VOLUME II
Friday, June 28 | HAPPY HOUR specials FROM 6 pm - 9 pm
7 pm demo by PQM Head Butcher, Rob Levitt
Join us for PQM’s Heritage Breed Series as we celebrate the American Guinea Hog. Enjoy hand-selected charcuterie boards, happy hour specials and a live butcher and curing demo from Head Butcher, Rob Levitt, as he dives into the history of the Guinea Hog breed while showcasing its unique characteristics and specialty cuts throughout the evening.
Once facing the brink of extinction before a concerted effort by the farming community to revitalize its population, the American Guinea Hog sits on Slow Food’s Ark of Taste list. The breed is now considered a specialty, rarely found in restaurants or butcher cases.
This Heritage Breed event will feature a Guinea Hog provided by family-owned Ham Sweet Farm in Williamston, MI. Come welcome the Ham Sweet Farm and their farmers on Friday, June 28 from 6-9 PM. We hope to see you then!
